PREDAZZO, Italy — Norway’s Anna Odine Strøm took her second gold in ski jumping in the women’s large hill on Sunday evening, making history as the first woman to win two individual events in the sport in the same Olympics.

Philipp Raimund showed nerves like steel to claim a stunning normal hill ski jumping Olympic gold for Germany while Slovenian World Cup dominator Domen Prevc missed the medals. Raimund is yet to win a World Cup competition but he led the first round with 102 metres and then added 106.

Slovenia defended its gold in mixed team ski jumping, with Domen and Nika Prevc becoming the first brother and sister to medal on the normal hill at the same Olympics.

Size always matters. Tell that to Austrian ski jumper Daniel Tschofenig — who saw his gold medal dreams dashed all because his ski boots were too big. Tschofenig, a World Cup winner, fell foul of the rules by just four millimeters.

Nordic combined is the only Olympic sport that doesn't allow women to compete, despite athletes' efforts to change that. They say their odds for 2030 hinge on people watching men's events this week.
