Officials with World Curling on Saturday clarified throw rules after tempers flared during a men’s curling round-robin contest between Sweden and Canada on Friday.
In curling, if a team has no stones in the house after the final stone of the end is thrown, it is called a blank. Typically, the hammer goes to whichever team loses an end. In mixed doubles curling, if a team enters with the hammer and then has a blank with no stones in the house, the hammer is forced to the other team.
